In the years 2007 – 2012 this photo project originated in the area “Inden” near Eschweiler in Germany. In this area, residents are forced to leave their villages because of the (opencast) extraction of lignite for power stations. I have regularly visited this area, wandered through the abandoned houses and gardens and seen how the surroundings, houses and gardens, underwent a metamorphosis. This resulted in a poetic series in which photos of gardens and (details of) interiors of houses, from the outside and inside, were combined in one frame.
